MODE OF PRODUCTION METHOD PARADIGM AND SPATIAL DIMENSIONS OF RURAL RESIDENCE AND
TEXTURE
The common methodology in residence and texture recognition in Rural Geography originates from the explanation of current existence and classification based on common physical dimensions and also the perception of causative processes on creation of the texture and residence from internal and local parameters. So this methodology emphasizes on environmental parameters regarding climates and topography, some social interactions such as social security and social traditions, cultural parameters namely religion and beliefs.
The power points of this methodology could be described as follow:
ü Focusing on the existing scopes
ü Is based on the causative analytical methods
ü Tries to complete and prove the recognition hypothesis through focusing on details
The weak points of the above said methodology are as follow:
ü Is weak in perception and description of general relationships and also in explanation of all changes in spatial structure and domain at regional scale.
ü The output of the analytical system is mostly based on the previous data prior to the change and this is due to slow speed of changes in rural texture and rural residential structures comparing with the changes in general domain.
ü It is immature in forecasting and predicting of possible changes in spatial characteristics of rural texture and residence and therefore it would not conduct the decision and policy makers in conclusion and synthesis and also in regulating process.
Therefore in expansion of the methodology for recognition of spatial dimensions of rural residential locations, the holistic approach should be adopted based on analysis of relationships between macro space and rural space.
To perceive the macro space, the investigation of the changes in "Mode of production" plays an important role as historical, social, cultural and political process.
"Mode of production" paradigm would describe the relationships and land ownerships, production rules and social and economical regulation and it would also describe and analyze the relationships in spatial changes so that a general perception from last, current and future perspective and also predicting and forecasting would be possible for decision and policy makers in rural planning.
In this research, it has been tried to describe the efficiency of this paradigm regarding "Mode of production" and it has also been tried to investigate the changes in rural spaces and in turn the changes in rural residential domains through general recognition of changes in "Mode of production" in Iran and the structural changes in creation of homogenous spatial domains.
It has also been tried to describe the application of this methodology in sustainable rural planning emphasizing on evaluation of rural and residential characteristics.
